  • Bob Vander Plaats, who spearheaded a successful drive to oust three Iowa Supreme Court justices in 2010 over a court ruling that permitted same-sex marriage, was profiled as “Iowa’s Social Conservative Kingmaker” by’s Swampland political blog.
  • Texas’ ban on corporate campaign donations was defended by the Campaign Legal Center in litigation that challenges the ban, according to an American Independent article. The Center is a JAS partner group on campaign reform issues.
  • A Palladium-Item editorial commended the Indiana Supreme Court for a ruling this week that clarified an earlier, highly controversial decision regarding citizens violently resisting police entry into a home (see Gavel Grab post).
