An Anti-Scalia?

Robert Barnes and Kevin Merida wrote a pretty interesting piece called “Some Legal Activists Have Hearts Set on ‘True Liberal.’ ”  The article, which ran in the Sunday edition of The Washington Post, discusses lamentations  circulating in left wing circles that there isn’t an “anti-Scalia” on the court right now, someone who could: “…easily articulate a liberal interpretation of the Constitution, offer a quick sound bite and be prepared to mix it up with conservative activists beyond the marble and red velvet of the Supreme Court.”

Several names are bandied about as people with potential to fill such a role on the court, including Hillary Clinton and Deval Patrick. Significantly the article points out that some on the left don’t agree that setting up a court composed of ideological opposites is ultimately good for the court, or the country.  Check out the full article here.
